Royal Frenchel History
My good friend Windy started this designer breed with nothing but love, when she learned that two of her most beloved dog breeds had severe genetic problems due to inbreeding (a common practice for pedigree type dogs). Sometimes dogs are bred until their gene pools grow thin, due to small populations used or inbreeding. The weaker, less-desired genes get passed down as well, causing all types of distress, pain and even early death. Instead, she searched out healthy dogs with very good bloodlines, AKC registered and well checked from every angle by Veterinarians. Then she cross bred them to create the designer breed Royal Frenchel (designer breed means a hybrid from a pedigreed dam and sire). I watched her develop this designer breed over the years, all the while thinking I wanted only a “this” , pedigree, of course! Or a “that” AKC papered only…. of course…! One day Windy called me and said that she thought a puppy had been born for me. I declined her offer at first, but said I would keep an open mind and look at “it”. Well, the moment I saw her, I fell in love with my Royal Frenchel! That is me, in the picture with Pearl on my lap. Pearl is in her work mode in this picture as I had just returned from work myself! Pearl is a service dog for me too. I don’t go anywhere without her. She goes to college every day where I teach and never sleeps a wink during class, unless she is pregnant. Otherwise, she spends her time sitting at attention in my classroom staring at the material like everyone else in the class. She attends like an angel, and when we are done at the end of the day, she jumps up happily to do our next set of tasks. We drive home, take a walk, make dinner and perhaps visit friends.
Essentially, it involves families who raise a Royal Frenchel and remain the dogs Primary Family for life. I breed them a few times and the families are part of an educative program that covers wonderful dog care, the basics along with breeding information, whelping, etc. It all depends on how far they want to go. We even have our own trainer, Katherine Stutz who is wonderful. Katherine creates outings and special training sessions for our dogs and Primary Family members to learn to create the lives they want – together! She also records training videos to answer common questions for our Royal Frenchels family to enjoy and learn from. The key here is that the dogs are well loved by their family and cared for well. If you notice, we try not to use words like “owner”. I learned this from Windy who treats everyone, person or animal, as a unique personality and soul. I liked the manner that type of thinking creates between dog friend and dog and so I use it. Quite frankly, I think that people rave about our dogs, not only because they are Royal Frenchels, but also because they stand apart from other dogs when they come to look at them. Due to the unique breeding program our dogs have excellent companionship traits. Due to the special techniques used as they begin to explore their worlds they are much easier to train. Some of our Primary Family Breeders are in the program because they feel it is an invaluable experience to share with their children. They find they create wonderful memories while accomplishing goals together that they set from their own dreams. Tangible work ethics become established and ongoing learning becomes a way of life when implementing the program. But most of all, the intimate relationship and bond between the two people goes beyond parent and child and enters the sharing of two people who are sharing well to create life. Nuances of each person are revealed that would otherwise perhaps be lost in time while living roles in busy life. We view the life with dogs as an adventure in learning and knowing about another species. This is accompanied by an attitude that somehow we are all equal and that we can live with the animal in a way that honors its true needs. That this is the mark of true friendship for which this species is known, “Man’s Best Friend”. To be a friend we must want to know who is there and what they truly need to live most excellently and prosper. Prospering a dogs world with them is a blast! Children gain this very important way of embracing differences, their value and how to make a friend without it being one sided - no matter what species it is!
I happen to have gotten my medical degree as well as become a professor. I have seen people with the very best belongings they can have, still fail in health and happiness due to a lack of intimate relationship. We have all heard stories of this in people and animals. Well, this is the magic we put into our breeding program. We share family, non competitive environment in terms of not more than 4 dogs per family, work a unique program to stimulate the best neurological system that we know and genuinely love our dogs. This gives us the advantage over other breeders that I believe Windy’s dogs were known for in the past. Now, I can offer more pups due to the growth I have created here at RoyalFrenchel.com as this breeding system has matured. We have more dogs now to offer loving families, not sacrificing quality. Intimate loving relationships are the key to life everywhere we go. Rich or poor, celebrity or ordinary person. Our intimate beloved family and friends create a wellspring of resource that we benefit from when it is healthy. Our dogs get the best because we trust love. |

Hello, I am Marie. Thank you for visiting our site. Here I am with my own Royal Frenchel, Pearl.
I was so touched by this designer breed and the understandings that Windy shared with me about how dog breeds are created. With all good intentions, people inbreed and end up breeding out of very shallow gene pools to create traits that sustain over time for reliability. People want to buy certain breeds for one quality or another and breeding pedigree dogs allows us to do that. However, when we breed dogs this way, we also cause genetic defects to pass into the line equally as powerfully sometimes. Insuring that the breed stays the same litter to litter is a risk at best the longer a dog breed exists, unless we cross the breeds with greater gene pools that stimulate new options in the making of the pups.
Windy had a vision of helping the breeds she loved expand through a new type of breeding method as well,
In short,
